The Different Types of Muscle Building

Thursday, October 15th, 2009

There are actually four different types of body building and most people just assume there is actually only one. Also in these four different catergories there are also four different types of competitions. The four different types of body building are the follwoing, professional bodybuilding, natural bodybuilding, female bodybuilding, and teenage bodybuilding.

A professional body builder is called so because they are someone who has won qualifying competitions, and has therefore because of this, earned what is known as a professional body builder card from the IFBB, which is the International Federation of Bodybuilding and Fitness. A professional body builder can actually compete in official competitions, and then if they rank high enough in the competitions, they can go on to compete in the main event in nody building and is what most bosy builders aspire to, the Mr. Olympia competition.

A natural body builder is a person who competes in competitions where the contestants have to have become a body builder under natural circumstances. The body builders are tested for illegal substances. If the body builder used steroids to grow their muscles quicker, you are not classed as a natural bodybuilder, and therefore would not be able to compete as one. If you took steroids years ago, then you will never be able to compete in these natural competitions. It is not justs teroids and other illegal drugs that are banned from natural bodybuilding. The following are also banned from being used if you want to compete in these types of competitions, anabolic steroids, diuretics, and prohormone drugs also are banned. Natural bodybuilding has its own organizations, including the North American Natural Bodybuilding Foundation (NANBF) and the Natural Physique Association (NPA).

What is known as female body building exercise is as the name implies. It is body building sport and catergories for females. Women started appearing in the sport around the 1970s, and then because their bodies are so much more physically different from male bodies, it would be obviously unfair to be judged against each other in competition. So because of this, there are now female only competitions. Women also have fitness and figure competitions, as opposed to just bodybuilding competitions. The Ms. Olympia competition has been around since 1980~Olympia competition has been around since 1980}.

Steroids and bodybuilding

Friday, October 9th, 2009

Some body builders think that using steroids will let them achieve the look they want, and will not be able to get this look any other way. The body builders who use steroids will get the look they want much faster than someone who does use any steroids, but there can be a heavy price to pay when you decide to use steroids.

As well as potentially suffering from health complaints, you will be banned or maybe disqualified from the majority of natural body building competitions if you decide to use steroids. The officials at the muscle building competitions will test fir the use of steroids so you wil not get aweay with it. You may not be planning any time soon to actually compete, so using steroids is alright, this is wrong as you will still suffer from health problems should you choose to use steroids.

Using steroids could potentially make you impotent and sterile, this should be enough for the majority of male body builders to not use steroids when they are trying to get the look they want. Steroids can also affect the size of the testes. Using steroids not only does the things listed above, but they can also cause permanent gynecomastia… This is a condition that will increase the female hormones in your body that will eventually increase breast size, and this is a permanent condition that cannot be treated.

When female muscle building use steroids, it can cause problems with the menstrual cycle and then in turn will create problems within. The steroids could also affect women by causeing infertility and pattern baldness amongst some women. They can also cause an enlargement of the clitoris, which is a permanent and disfiguring, and cannot be altered.

When men take steroids, they may start to grow breasts, but in females the reverse happens; because of an increase in testosterone in the body, the breast size will be reduced and this is again, a permanent condition. This increase in testosterone may also cause a female to grow facial hair, and to develop a deeper voice also.

Using a Personal Trainer When Muscle Building

Friday, September 25th, 2009

When you are thinking about becoming a body builder, whether professional or amateur, then the bets thing you can do for your hobby or profession is to employ a personal trainer. You will work more effectively and you will see more results faster, if you have a personal trainer specifically trained in body building.

You may think that personal trainers cost the earth to employ, but they do not. You need someone who knows what they are doing and more importantly what you are doing, not a celebrity trainer. Any one can claim that they are a professional personal trainer, so there are a few important things to remember before employing your personal trainer that is right for you.

The personal trainer that you decide upon should have some kind of certification. However, certification is not that difficult to achieve. The good thing about someone with certification is that it shows they are somewhat serious about what they are doing and that they could be motivated to go to classes. You could also see if the personal trainer has a degree or some kind of education within the exercise genre. There are other things that could be more important to look out for though.

A good and qualified trainer will make sure you go and see your doctor before even considering working with you. If they do not ask you about this or tell you to see your doctor then they obviously do not care about the general health and welfare about their clients, which should be paramount. The trainer should listen to what your needs and goals are within the body building regime and also it is important that you get to know each other and actually get along with each other. They will need to know your limits and how much time you have to commit to the body building program, as they need to come up with a schedule that suits you and your lifestyle.

A good professional, personal trainer will work with you on your form when you are training, and they will also pay attention to your nutrition, supplements, and even your periods of sleep and rest, understanding that all of these combined factors makes upĀ  a good and healthy natural bodybuilding routine. The trainer should be able to motivate you properly, make you feel comfortable and at ease, and should also be on top of the latest information that relates to body building and nutrition.
