Causes and Effects of Bodybuilding Muscle Pain

muscle-painBody building muscle pain is quite common. It is not restricted to a single muscle fibre. It can include fascia, tendons, ligaments and soft tissues connecting bones, muscles and organs. Muscle pain is generally related to muscle injury, overuse or tension. It can be caused due to physical exercise. In this regard, some specific muscles might be involved in pain that might start during the exercise or after it. The activity causing pain is quite obvious.

Sometime, the whole body can be under the influence of muscle pain as in case of some infection like flu or some connective tissue disorder like lupus. There are many causes of body building muscle pain, but fibromyalgia is the common cause of muscle pain in which tenderness in muscles is observed along with pain in surrounding tissues, fatigue and headache.

Muscles are the connective tissue providing shape to the body. Muscle contract and relax due to the elastic fibre. Muscles contracting ability help in movement of various body parts. Muscles are joined to other muscle through ligaments, to bones through tendons, and to soft organs through fascia. In case of body building muscle pain, the body gets more exerted due to over-work and muscle get tired, worn out or torn. These targeted muscles come under the effect of pain.

Muscle pain can be felt in either a single or more muscle fiber. It includes affected tendons, fascia or ligaments. There can be several causes of muscle pain like strain, stress, exercise or physical exercise, major injury or any muscle diseases. Some times body infection can also be the cause of muscle pain. Infected area may disturb the proper working of surrounding ligaments, tendons, muscles and cause ache, fatigue and sleeplessness. For example, the whole body gets infection with influenza infection.

Fibromyalgia is the common cause of muscle pain. In this condition, tenderness of muscle and soft tissues surrounding it are mainly influenced. Myofascial pain syndrome (MPS), a type of muscle pain, affects the connective tissue fascia.

No doubt, medical help can bring some immediate relief to body building muscle pain. But it is said that prevention is always better than cure. They can be kept in proper shape through regular exercise, through proper stretch or nutrition. Some unused muscle, when put to use causes muscle pain, as in old people, they suffer from muscle pain because of inconsistent use of muscle. At this stage, muscle flexibility gets reduced and muscle starts wear and tear. It can be prevented by following regular exercise and balanced nutrition, which provides sufficient amount of minerals and vitamins.
